“My favorite thing about being a Postpartum Doula is being able to be a support system for new parents and connecting them to resources. Of course, being able to hold the baby!” -Shané Darby
My name is Shané Darby. I was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. I am a mom of 3 girls. I decided to become a Postpartum Doula because I want to see other young mothers like me, be able to navigate and manage their experiences after having their baby.
I experienced postpartum depression after having my last two children in 2015/2016. I wish that I had someone to guide me through advocating for myself to receive the services I needed to reduce my risk of perinatal mood disorder, provide breastfeeding assistances, and other needed supports.
I want to be that person I did not have to other mothers in my community. I hope that you decide on me to support you and your family.
With Love,
Shane` Darby
